Vintage 60's JAPANESE electric guitar copy of E 335. Ebony & Mother of Pearl fretboard.Very good condition overall with list of mechanical restoration from reputable shop. THE ACTUAL COLOR OF THE BODY IS NOT AS DARK AS THE PHOTOS RELAY. SORRY ABOUT THE GLARE AND REFLECTIONS FROM THE PHOTO LIGHTING ON SHINY SURFACES. THE COLORS ARE CONSISTENT IN EACH SECTION WITH DIFFERENT WOODS. EBONY WOOD AND MOTHER OF PEARL HAVE NO WEAR. IT'S GLARE ON THE BLACK. Let's start with restoration. I brought this guitar to Traverse City Guitar Company, in Northern Michigan, and asked their lead tech to check it out and recommend repairs to restore it to perfect working order. Here's what he would do; install a bridge, re-shim the neck, replace the nut, tighten one loose dial, string and tune. It measures 41 inches long.
The body measures 18 1/4 inches long by 15 inches wide. The guitar weighs 6 pounds (9 pounds safely packed). The pickups were tested and found in perfect working order. There are 6 GROVER tuning nuts on the head. Ebony board and Mother of Pearl inlay on the fretboard. The chromed tremelo's range of motion is over 180 degrees.
The dials move smoothly (one needs tightening as mentioned above). There is a screw on the side if you wish to install a pick guard. The cosmetic flaws I find. A 1/4 of an inch square lift on a piece of head's veneer (SEE PIC # 2). Light edge wear on the backside top of the head (SEE PIC # 6). Light surface scuffs on the back of the body from contact with clothing (also easier to see the scuffs when contorting the guitar under bright lights). There is a 1/4 of an inch long shallow nick on the backside of the neck (SEE PIC # 5).
The sides of the body have surface scuffs. The curved top of the body next to the neck has wear near the edges. The nut has one tooth chipped on the end (mentioned above in restoration SEE PIC # 2).
I mentioned these cosmetic flaws to the tech and he said none would change the sound or playability. This great looking guitar is clean and ready for restoration. WHITE SPOTS AND STREAKS ARE REFLECTIONS AND GLARE FROM THE LIGHTING. The item "Vintage 60's JAPANESE electric guitar copy of E 335. Ebony &" is in sale since Monday, June 24, 2019.
